Aspiring nurses and healthcare students in West Bengal have a reason to celebrate. The JENPAS UG 2025 registration process has officially begun. The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) launched the application window on September 8, 2025, and the deadline is approaching fast on September 16.

If you are aiming for a career in B.Sc. Nursing, Physiotherapy, or Medical Lab Technology, this is your chance to step in. With only a few days left, now is the best time to complete the form and avoid last-minute stress.

Why JENPAS UG 2025 Matters

JENPAS UG is the entry point for several undergraduate programs in nursing, paramedical, and allied health sciences. Courses include B.Sc. Nursing (women candidates in government colleges), Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT), Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Technology (BMLT), and other options such as Radiology or Operation Theatre Technology. Healthcare continues to expand in India, and qualifying through this exam increases the chances of stable opportunities in hospitals and clinics.

Last year, more than 55,000 candidates registered. This year, traffic on the application portal has already risen by 40% since launch, with no major technical issues reported. The exam will be held on October 18, 2025, so candidates need to balance registration with preparation right away.

Always check the official brochure for detailed rules per course.

Step-By-Step: How To Register

Applications are online only. Here is a quick guide to help you through the process:

  1. New Registration: Visit wbjeeb.nic.in/jenpas-ug, click on “New Registration,” and enter basic details like name, phone number, and email. Create a password. An application number will be generated—note it down.
  2. Form Filling: Log in and add educational details, personal information, and choose your exam paper (Paper 1 for most courses, Paper 2 only for BHA).
  3. Upload Documents: Upload photo (20–50 KB JPEG), signature (10–20 KB JPEG), left thumb impression, and Class 10/12 certificates. Caste or disability certificates should be uploaded if applicable.
  4. Fee Payment: Pay ₹500 (General/OBC) or ₹400 (SC/ST/PwD) for one paper. For both papers, the fee is ₹800 for General/OBC and ₹650 for SC/ST/PwD. Payment can be done via UPI, card, net banking, or QR.
  5. Final Submission: Review the details, submit, and download the confirmation page. Basic information like name or date of birth cannot be changed later. Corrections for other details will be allowed between September 18–19.

It is better to register early. Over 50,000 applicants are expected, and late entries usually face server delays.

Exam Structure

The exam is pen-and-paper based, with OMR sheets. Each paper is 90 minutes long.

  • Paper 1 (For Most Courses): Physics, Chemistry, Biology (60 questions, 100 marks) + English, Logical Reasoning, General Awareness (40 questions, 50 marks).
  • Paper 2 (BHA Only): Includes Mathematics along with reasoning and awareness (35 questions, 50 marks).

Questions are multiple choice. There is no negative marking for Category 1, but in Category 2, one-fourth mark is deducted for wrong answers. The syllabus is based on Class 11 and 12 WBCHSE/CBSE content.

What Students Are Saying

Student sentiment has shifted. Earlier, in July and August, many were frustrated by the delay, especially due to the OBC reservation case. Hashtags like #JENPASDelay trended, with more than half of candidates worried about losing valuable preparation time.

Since the registration window opened on September 8, the mood has improved. Social media platforms now show mostly positive discussions. Candidates are sharing how-to-apply tips and reminding peers not to miss the September 16 deadline. A recent Hindustan Times guide received thousands of views and comments from students expressing relief that the process has finally started.
